The use of Structural Insulated Panels, generously provided by our major sponsor Formance Ltd, means with careful planning we can complete a warm and cosy, transportable and modular eco-home, very affordably and in a short time frame. We think that by building better we can effectively respond to the combined climate and housing crisis and provide climate-safe housing.

This is the work of many volunteers and the Directory is available at:
1. The BRCT Office, 1121 Mt Cargill Rd
2. Waitati School Office, 1121 Mt Cargill Rd
3. Blueskin Library, Harvey St, Waitati
4. Blueskin Nurseries, Harvey St, Waitati
5. Blueskin Store, SH1, Waitati.

Big thanks to the Dunedin City Council for support for this essential publication and to the The Southern Trust for support of BRCT’s work. Any profits from the sale of directories go to support the Waitati School PTA.

The A&P Show https://www.brct.org.nz/the-ap-show/ https://www.brct.org.nz/the-ap-show/#comments Tue, 09 Apr 2019 03:24:41 +0000 https://new.www.brct.org.nz/?p=1213 Here’s a few photos from BRCT stand at the A&P show yesterday. A great day, with lots of interest and passion for renewables, climate action, community development and lovely people keen to chew the fat.

We were particularly talking about:

The Blueskin Energy Network
The Climate Safe House
The Mihiwaka Walking project
About Us – Encounters in Otepoti-Dunedin

All in all some wonderful connections, with beautiful Blueskin weather and a lovely easterly breeze making things interesting in the afternoon. ☀😄

Our thanks too to the A&P Society for making this event happen, and of course to Mayoress Mandy Mayhem-Bullock for making the day so unique!

Meet the neighbours https://www.brct.org.nz/meet-the-neighbours/ https://www.brct.org.nz/meet-the-neighbours/#respond Tue, 09 Apr 2019 03:11:13 +0000 https://new.www.brct.org.nz/?p=1206 The Blueskin Energy Network is a local initiative for cleaner, cheaper, smarter, local power. BRCT Manager Scott Willis will explain how peer to peer electricity works and why we think the democratisation of our energy system is inevitable.

Did you know that BEN helps the energy dollar to circulate and do good in the community?
Did you know that putting on the jug at 7.30am sets the price we all pay for electricity?
